Patricia Campbell

Trish Campbell is a postdoctoral researcher in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health working with Jodie McVernonJames McCaw and Nic Geard. Her PhD research, completed in 2014, improved understanding of how pertussis (whooping cough) spreads and developed strategies to protect infants too young to be vaccinated. Trish maintains an ongoing interest in pertussis transmission and prevention.

Keen to apply her mathematical modelling skills to an infection other than pertussis, Trish is now collaborating with researchers at Murdoch Childrens Research Institute, Menzies School of Health Research and The Kirby Institute to investigate the spread of skin infections, a major cause of poor health in Australian Indigenous and Fijian populations.
