Announcements

The Ferrari lab (theferrarilab.com) and Shea lab (https://kshealab.wordpress.com/) in The Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics (cidd.psu.edu) at The Pennsylvania State University are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to lead research on an NSF funded project to develop optimal surveillance/monitoring and control strategies for infectious disease in resource constrained settings. The successful candidate will develop independent research and contribute to a multi-institution project studying endemic foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in Turkey and developing monitoring and control strategies for endemic FMD in low-income countries. Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in a relevant field (such as ecology, statistics, mathematics, epidemiology, veterinary epidemiology, physics), a strong interest in dynamical systems, and a history of productivity. Familiarity with R is preferred, though the successful candidate will have freedom to develop analyses and models in the language in which they are most proficient. Experience in communicating quantitative analyses to a non-technical audience and experience working with large collaborative groups is an advantage. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire, with excellent possibility of extension. Applicants should submit a cover letter describing their research experience and how these experiences relate to the position, a CV, and contact information for three references. For informal inquiries, please email Matthew Ferrari (mferrari@psu.edu). Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
