We are seeking a senior researcher to lead mathematical biology (Ref No 12552) in our unit at QIMR Berghofer. The advertisement can be accessed through SEEK and the QIMRB Careers Page. This will be a senior appointment in Clinical Tropical Medicine led by Professor James McCarthy and will have a salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.
The Mathematical Biologist will join our emerging group of five quantitative scientists in mathematical and statistical modelling. The current priorities are for projects linked to our work using the Induced Blood Stage Malaria model to evaluate biomarkers and medications aimed at elimination of malaria. It is expected that the successful applicant will develop new initiatives and methodology linking mathematics and biology to overcome problems in elimination of malaria, which also apply to infectious diseases of major worldwide impact.
