Ada Yan

Ada‘s research interests lie in developing mathematical models to understand the impact of biological mechanisms driving infection and clearance within the host.  She is currently a research assistant at the MRC Centre for Outbreak Analysis in the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology, School of Public Health, Imperial College London, evaluating the effects of specific mutation events on transmission of influenza strains.  Ada undertook her PhD studies at the School of Mathematics and Statistics at The University of Melbourne, supervised by James McCaw, Jodie McVernon and Sophie Zaloumis.  Her PhD analysed the effects of different components of the immune response on within-host influenza infection. Ada was awarded a Victoria Fellowship for 2015.
